Lakes To Visit This Summer

Chelan, Washington - Lake Chelan

Do you love lake towns? Does the water call to you? Well, Budget Travel has just posted the top “8 Gorgeous Summer Lake Towns” (by Beth Collins). There are 4 close by Idaho!

Forest Grove, OR, just 25 miles west of Portland, has a historic downtown district with old-fashioned ironwork street lamps and unique stores. Hagg Lake is only 9 miles from the town. This 1,100-acre lake sits at the base of Oregon’s coastal mountain range and has two boat launches, 15 miles of trails and picnic areas.

Chelan, WA is 3 hours east of Seattle and sits on a 50-mile-long glacier-fed lake. Kayaking, swimming, fishing or windsurfing are popular activities in this town. But, before you leave, don’t miss taking the ferry up the lake! This lake is nestled in the slopes of the North Cascade Mountains and the scenery is stunning!

Truckee, CA is on Donner Lake, which is 16 miles south of Lake Tahoe. Donner Lake has warmer water temperatures than Lake Tahoe and, Truckee, has an Old West Town feeling. Explore the original jailhouse or the many outdoor activities the lake has offer. Try paddleboarding, the new sport of choice at this lake!

Dillon, CO is about hour and half west of Denver. At the Dillon Marina,  rent a boat, go on a guided hike or wildflower walk, or go sailing. Lake Dillon hosts the Dillon Open Regatta, the world’s highest!

About bishsrv

Bish’s RV Super Center is dedicated to provide quality products and services that exceed the expectations of our customers, and to create an atmosphere where our customers can enjoy a positive experience as friends of our family business. When Bish's RV first opened its doors in Idaho Falls 17 years ago, we had no intention of evolving into the largest RV dealer in the State of Idaho. Rather, it was owner Tadd Jenkins' goal to incorporate the same ideals that had been instilled in him by his family since he was a small boy. Among these were honesty when dealing with others, treating others like you would want to be treated, and always be available to provide service when it is needed.
